Summary

Lyrics

Where you gone now, Willie?
The Greenies chased you today
So you ran, ran away
Oh, Willie of Hazel Green High School

Come on back now, Willie
'Cause now we're red and white
No more green, green fright
Oh, Willie of Hazel Green High School

Willie, well wouldn't you know
Why, why wouldn't you know?

In the end the red and white
Broke the Green ruled night
The Greenies rode the mower
'Til the Trojans took over

Willie, well wouldn't you know
Why, why wouldn't you know?

Willie, you know the way
From Slaterock to Riversedge
Go quick on Joe Quick
Past Summer Street and right on to College

Willie, you know the way
Come back someday
Oh, Willie of Hazel Green High School

Notes

This song was just written for fun based on finding that someone had listened to a song called, "Willie of Hazel Green", on a website (last.fm) but had listed the song under my name. I ended up looking up a place called Hazel Green and incorporated some nearby locations in the song. A pretty pointless song; but at least someone can find their song now.

Upon further investigation... it seems that a composer named Andrew Rowan Summers created a song with the same name years ago.
