主の通られる道を
まっすぐにせよ

谷も山も
平らにされる
曲がった道やところも
まっすぐになるよ

人々はみな
神の救いを
目で見るであろう
気をつけろ！

乾いた荒野でヨハネは
悔い改めを唱えていた

あらゆる人々が罪を悔い改めた
バプテスマを受けるために
ヨハネのところにやってきた

ヨルダン川ではげしい風のごとく
ヨハネの声が聞こえました
風のごとく

悔い改めなさい！
罪を告白してね
天のみ国が近づいたから！

しかし立派な立法学者も
バプテスマを受けようとしてきた

ヨハネは彼らをみて、言った

マムシの末たちよ
神のみ怒りをのがれるように
だれがあなたがたに教えたのか？

私たちはアブラハムの子孫で
神様の立法の知恵を持っていて

悔い改めにふさわしい実を
神様へ結ばないと
火に投げ込まれる危険はあるよ
アブラハムの子供であっても

み声に聞き従い
燃え尽くす火をさけるために
よい実を結びなさい
神のみこころを求めなさい

よい実を・・・

(direct translation)

Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make His paths straight!

Valleys and hills
will be flattened
The crooked paths and places
will become straight!

All shall see the salvation of God
Take heed!

Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make His paths straight!

In the dry desert
John preached repentance

All sorts of people
repented of their sins
And came to the River Jordan
To be baptized by John

John’s voice could be heard
by the river
His voice like a raging wind

Repent, for the kingdom of heaven
is at hand!

But the teachers of the Law
Also came to get baptized

When John saw them, he said:

You brood of vipers!
Who warned you to flee
from the wrath to come?

But we are children of Abraham...
We hold the knowledge
of God’s Laws

So then bear fruits
  worthy of repentance!
Otherwise you are still
  in danger of the Fire!
Even if you are a child
  of Abraham...

And listen to His voice
In order to escape the Fire
Bear good fruit
And seek the Heart of God

Good fruit...
