Lyrics

Translation

(direct translation)

Osaka is so hot
This evening, with heat like this...
It's already August; hot and humid
Before coming,
I thought my heart was Your heart
At least I had that feeling...

Please change my heart!

Lately, it's like...
I'm so busy
I'm doing whatever I feel like doing
It's so selfish
Even writing this song is pretty selfish
Half-hearted...
And so fickle!

More than just saying something,
Would that all of this be changed!

Notes

I wrote this song while I was visiting my friend, Brad, in Osaka. When I began performing this song in front of other people, someone once interpreted this song be about some girl in Osaka. Sometimes no matter what one says, people will often have their own interpretations about something. But, in the end, this song is about how I wanted my heart to be changed by God because I was getting so far away from better plans by the time I finally wrote this song.

Language-wise, this song is probably one of my worst songs written in Japanese. So many things I would probably have done differently if I had written it now. But I suppose that sometimes... the heart of the song is the essential thing.

Originally, this was a guitar-based song. But tracking down the fabled, original recording is an adventure unto itself.
